Last night four senior members left the drizzle of New Mills to drive to Pym Chair car park, whence to embark on the Full Moon Tuesday expedition to Shining Tor, and beyond.
Arriving at Pym Chair the sky cleared, and we emerging from the clag and gloom to a clear night, we had a magical walk to Shining Tor in the bright moonlight.
OK that was a lie, of Leave Campaign proportions. Now the truth: we arrived at the car park which was in low cloud, and had difficultly locating the entrance. Once in the car park, we were astounded to find another car parked with steamed up windows. Mooting one of the obvious reasons for its presence we decided to give it some space, but Jo and Julian emerged- and they assured us they had only come for the walk.
So six of us did walk to Shining Tor and back in the mist and driving rain (not forecast!). Bracing, if not enjoyable.
The Goyt Inn at Whaley Bridge was definitely enjoyable.
And Full Moon Tuesday lives on!
