    Those who went on the Mynydd meet to Orkney in May 2009 might be interested in the recent BBC series – Britain’s Ancient Capital: Secrets of Orkney – on the iplayer:

    At about 32 mins in is footage of a tyrolean ascent of North Gaulton Castle – brought back memories of great day.

    Ace!!! – Still my most all-round best day’s climbing ever. – I still shudder when I think what could have happened to Derek as the tyrolean rope rubbed against the edge of the stack. Goodness knows what load was on the rope too. It certainly became a lot thinner under tension.
