COVID-19

Meets

All meets have now restarted! Details can be found on our ‘Meets’ page.

For meets in Wales, the club are currently legally mandated to undertake a risk assessment. Guidance will therefore be shared with participants in advance of the meet. Please let the meet leader know that you are going to attend a Welsh meet.

Club meets in England are not subject to any additional COVID guidance, but for indoor wall or hut meets, please ensure compliance to the rules at that wall/ hut.

GUIDANCE ON THE USE OF BLAEN-Y-NANT

COVID-19 – Wales – Alert Level 0

Planning your visit:

All prospective hut users should familiarise themselves with the current Welsh Government guidelines before travelling: https://gov.wales/alert-level-0-guidance-public-html

Prospective hut users MUST NOT visit the hut if displaying any symptoms of COVID-19. You should seek to get a PCR test as soon as possible.

Before travelling:

Consider whether alternative sleeping / catering arrangements (e.g. campervan, tent, personal stove) might be appropriate during your stay in order to reduce the number of people inside the hut. Those not living together/ in a bubble should look to stay in different buk rooms where possible. It is advised that food and drink are not shared outside of a household unit/ bubble.

Please pack your own tea towels, hand and body towels and pillows. Use your own items for the duration of your stay.

On arrival:

If a hut user develops symptoms of COVID-19 during their visit, they should return home safely as soon as possible and get a PCR test. If unfit to travel, advice should be taken from NHS 111. All others in the group should also return home and self-isolate in accordance with the latest Government guidelines. Hut users MUST inform the Hut Bookings Secretary at the first reasonable opportunity if they test positive for COVID-19 during or within 72 hours of staying at the hut.

Users are encouraged to open all doors and windows immediately on arrival for a reasonable period of time to properly ventilate the hut. Hut users should operate an open window policy whenever there is at least one person in the hut. Upstairs windows can be left on the latch when the hut is vacant.

Users should treat all surfaces and utensils with caution and clean them before using – “assume nothing is clean unless you have cleaned it first”. Users should continue to regularly clean touch surfaces and wash their hands for the duration of their stay.

Hut users are encouraged to use the car park door for access to bathrooms and bunk rooms, and the garden door for access to the lounge and kitchen.

Hut users are encouraged to maintain social distance from those outside their family group or bubble, and to wear face coverings in areas where social distancing is not possible.
