Unfortunately this meet will no longer be going ahead due to lack of attendance. With only one person putting up their hand it wasn’t viable for David to run the weekend.

This may have been due to people not being available or potentially just a meet people aren’t keen for. It’s a shame if it’s the latter as last years meet had a great attendance and was really successful!

That said rather than lose a weekend if there is enthusiasm to do something AND we have someone willing to organise it I’m happy to run with a different meet. Feel free to reach out to me if you have an idea you’re willing to run with, even if it’s a day meet.

This meet will no longer be going ahead.

Graham stepped up to make sure the meet went ahead but with no on putting there hands up wanting to join in then unfortunately we’re pulling the plug.

Sorry to say that we’ve been hit with some unfortunate news.
The Don Whillans Memorial Hut Meet will no longer be taking place this weekend.

The hut warden contacted me today to say the water pump is faulty and without water or sanitation the hut can’t be available to us.

Gutted is an understatement but I’ll make sure we make it happen in 2023!

Saturdays still looking dry so they’ll likely be a few of us out in the Peak so I’ll post up any plans.

WINTER BIVVY – Sat 29th Jan

If anyone has missed the initial post of interest a few brave souls will be heading up to the Roaches this Saturday for a cheeky bivvy under the stars!

These fine travellers will be arriving from various directions by bike and foot with an eta around 19.00. Come join us if you fancy a brisk evening sipping whisky or rum.
I’ll be arriving ahead of time and depositing a car and rack before riding back out to be social!

So if you want to join in the fun you’ve got 3 options…
    1. Feel free to join us for some routes by torch light in the evening
    2. Settle in for the night with us and cosy up under the stars!
    3. Rock up early Sunday morning to get a few climbs in before we head home. Sunday morning arrivals may need to bring bacon!

I’ll have a full rack, ropes, belays, chalk etc and a few harnesses so all you need to bring is your stinky climbing shoes!

    BYN ACCESS

News report from our voice on the ground Dave Wilson

“the road from trefiew to crafnant is closed at the bottom. You can bypass this bit by turning uphill about 50 m north of the fairly falls, between the village post office and a church”

    LOGGING MEET ATTENDEES!!

Pay attention and read on if you’re coming to BYN this weekend for the logging meet.

    COST
We always ask for a small contribution towards the cost of the group meal kindly provided by Stephanie & Liz and the fireworks that have been sourced by Dave.
Please bring some cash with you to reimburse our wonderful trio!
It’s usually about £10 per person with a small contribution for kids but we’ll figure out the exact figure on Saturday when we know what the attendance will be!

There will be the usual hut fees applicable for those staying over which is £5.00 pppn for members (£3.50 kids) and £10.50 pppn for non-members (£5.00 kids).
Hut fees to be sent to James via BACS please.
    Sort. 01-05-51
    Acc. 40582787
    Reference. Your Name

If you’re not yet a member this is the time to pull the trigger and save some money on your hut fees. A £32.00 fee for new aspirant gets you membership until the end of 2022 so jump on board the Mynydd train!!
Email Jules via members.mynydd@gmail.com to let him know you want to be part of the prestige!

We’re going to have a big attendance as usual and although a lot of you are staying in a tent or camper there will be a good few staying in the hut so make sure your comfortable with room sharing in this current climate if you’re not bringing a tent.

They’ll be plenty of experienced members on hand to get everyone organised this weekend but as I’ll this meet leader will be on his first logging meet I’ll leave someone else to stipulate the chainsaw safety procedures!

In theory without a massive log delivery this year the amount if work shouldn’t be too bad so make sure you are properly prepared with enough alcohol to compensate for the lack of work we may have to do on saturday!

If anyone has any questions please comment below and I’ll furnish you with the answers.
