What does everyone think about Mam Tor Gully on Tuesday evening?
According to MWIS it should be nicely frozen, and it should receive a dusting of snow on Tuesday to ensure its wintery appearance.
If you’ve done it before or fancy something different, there are plenty of other lines up the face – see https://www.ukclimbing.com/logbook/crag.php?id=1341. Or you could simply walk up the nice paved path and meet us at the top!
Anyone who’s up for it, meet at the parking area near the Blue John Cavern at 7pm. If you’re climbing you will need crampons and at least one ice axe.
And finally, please could someone recommend a pub in Castleton?
I am driving from Leicester tomorrow, and hope to arrive by 7
is a grid of 132 843 about right for car park?Liz and I will probably be at the car park, but will go up Mam Tor by the South East ridge. We may see you headtorches!
I suggest we meet afterwards at the Cheshire Cheese, at the far end of Castleton. You can park on the road opposite
