New Year’s Walk – Sunday 7th January
Start the New Year with an ascent of the Matterhorn of Cheshire aka Shutlingsloe. We will be meeting at Trentabank Car Park, Macclesfield Forest (grid reference 961 711) at 10.00 for a 10.30 start (National Parks – coins only – £4.75 all day though the machine has been out of action recently). There is also free car parking nearby all along the side of the reservoirs. The walk is approximately 7 miles with 500m of ascent, taking in Shutlingsloe, Wildboarclough and Oakenclough. It can be shortened slightly near the end depending on how the group feels.
Post walk pints are at the Leather’s Smithy.
