Winter walk – Sunday 4 Feb – ROUTE CHANGE
In order to fully enjoy Phil Hargreaves’ talk at the Grouse, Frogatt (start time 18.00) I have changed the route of the February winter walk.
It’s now from Haywood Car Park Frogatt (255777). Meet at 09.00 for a 09.30 start (to ensure we get parked). It’s a paying car park but there should be free places on the roadside.
The route is NOT along Frogatt Edge but enjoys spectacular views of it from across the valley. We go through Upper Padley, over Eyam Moor, through Stoney Middleton and up onto the edge before a quick jog down to the pub.
The full route is 12.5 miles with a shortcut (6 miles) at the half way point. The full ascent is 800m and 600m for the shortcut.
I’m hoping both long and short routers will arrive at the Grouse in perfect time for a beer/dinner before Phil’s amazing talk on his recent epic motorbike adventure.
PS. If you want to eat at the Grouse (and who doesn’t) you might want to book at table.
See you all there
Sue
