Yorkshire Meet
13th October to 15th October
Roll up, roll up for some fun in God’s own county.
We have a hut booked at Selside in the Yorkshire Dales that can accommodate 23 people in four rooms.
It is fully equipped with beds, common room facilities, drying room, central heating, shower facilities and kitchen.
It’s the University of Leeds hut and is three miles north of Horton-in-Ribblesdale in the Yorkshire Dales on the B6479 to Ribblehead, grid reference SD 782758. More hut details here: http://sport.leeds.ac.uk/facilities/outdoors/#selside
Activities in the area:
Caving – Alum Pot is 10 minutes walk
Rock climbing – Twistleton Scar is 15 minutes drive away – new Northern Limestone guidebook to drool over: https://www.rockfax.com/climbing-guides/books/northern-limestone/ or go a bit further afield for some grit (unless you like esoteric in which case the climbing on Pen Y Ghent is worth a day trip and is close by).
Hill walking – located in the three peaks valley, you’ll need OS 1:25,000 Outdoor Leisure Map, OL2, Yorkshire Dales.
Canoeing/kayaking
Mountain biking (http://www.yorkshiredales.org.uk/visit-the-dales/get-outdoors-dales/mountain-biking)
Please contact Rachael Spraggs to book your place or post here. I need to confirm the price with our Hon. Treasurer but my guestimate is £24 for the weekend each, assuming minimum 15 people sign up.
