Duddon Valley Meet 11-13th October
Where? The meet will be based at the High Moss hut in Seathwaite* in the Duddon Valley – Grid Ref SD237 967. We have booked 20 beds, so, first come, first served!
How far to the Pub? The Newfield Inn at Seathwaite is about a 15 minute walk away, and has excellent reviews.
Things to do:
Climbing at Wallowbarrow crag and Seathwaite Buttress: multi pitch routes at amenable grades- both within walking distance
Several local valley crags
Mountain routes on Dow Crag and Esk Buttress.
Climbing on Duddon Slate
Scrambling: 4 scrambles in the Duddon valley listed- all grades
Fellwalking: Wainwrights galore!
To secure a place, you will need to pay in full. The cost of a hut place for two nights is £24, so transfer that amount to James treasurer@mynydd.org.uk , referencing this meet, and let me know that you’ve done it by emailing me: dave.liz.wilson@homecall.co.uk
See you there!
Dave
Footnote: Many of you- hopefully all of you -will be pleased to learn that the meet does not now clash with the Anti Brexit march in London, which has been put back a week. This means that the meet leaders will be able to attend their own meet with a clear conscience!
* going to the wrong Seathwaite (in Borrowdale) has already been done. Repeating that will not be worthy of an award!
