Last winter walk of the season PLUS dinner and a talk – Sunday 2 March
The Walk – We’re doing my favourite 7 Dales Walk – starting at Tideswell (and NOT Monsall Head). Spring will be here, there will be lots of early flowers and it’ll be nice and warm.
Meet at Tideswell Dale car park (SK 154742) at 10 for 10.30. Car park costs £4.75 and you can pay by cash or RingGo app. Its 10 miles with 600 meters of ascent. There’s a shorter version which reduces both the distance and height gain by half (The 3.5 Dales Walk).
And afterwards … We will eat at the Anchor Inn, Tideswell and then join the live stream of a very special winter lecture. ‘Some of the Life and Times of Doug Scott CBE’ will be delivered by David Nightingdale. David was a close friend of Doug Scott and is curating a South West face 50th Anniversary Exhibition in Grasmere this year.
Full details on how to book your place at the pub and order you food will be issued shortly. And of course you could simply go home and join the zoom call in you pyjamas on the sofa.
I love a social Sunday and am looking forward to seeing you all walking and/or at the pub.
