ModeratorNotes from the Meeting.
Alps Meet 2016
Either Chamonix (Vallorcene) or the Bregalia (Vico Soprano) were favoured, I’m looking at campsites and will report back. Please let me know which you prefer out of these options.Easter 2016
A UK week either Cornwall or Pembroke, depending on bird bans etcWinter 2017
Aviemore area OR the CIC (I’ll be making enquiries!)Whitsun 2017
Donegal (that’s Ireland, not Scotland!) to be lead by MariaEarly May BH 2016
Camping in the lakes, Paul has already volunteered for thisAugust BH 2016
Dorset campingThere was also discussion about weekend meets for most of the year, many options were put forward, debated and noted by me. Hopefully I’ll come up with a list which maximises satisifaction for the Mynydd membership.
I will need leaders for meets, full training can be given to those who haven’t yet lead a meet, but it’s pretty much common sense – let me know if there are meets you’d like to lead.

ModeratorDisaster? What disaster?

ModeratorHi Kirsten
The first walk coincides with the Coniston meet, please let me know if you’re coming (or not) so that I can put the right details on the calendar.
Cheers
Andy

ModeratorI’ll put your suggestion to the floor, on the night, along with any others that I receive between now and then.
However an offer to organise the campsite in your desired locale would definitely carry more weight than some non-committal begging … and organising the campsite is pretty much all you need to do for the summer meet…just sayin’ 😉

ModeratorExcellent! The perfect antidote to the post-bake off blues. What time do we roll out the picnic blanket?

ModeratorTHE ANNUAL ‘CHALLENGE’ DAY. SUNDAY 11TH OCTOBER.
This year its back to the Roaches area where a wealth of climbing, moorland and fine scenery are conveniently placed in relation to an excellent cafe.
In a topical change of format linked to the club’s 60th Anniversary, this year all targets must be linked to the numbers ‘6’, ’60’, or ‘600’.
Just choose your option to ensure a satisfying day and start planning!
(Make sure that participants at the lower end of the age spectrum have
a good day by moderating ambitions and employing the usual range of
bribes.)The suggested options are:
Climbing:
1. Select the grade
you’ve been comfortably leading this year and do 6 routes of that standard.
2. Sort out a partner for the day and do 60 metres of leading each.Walking:
Reach a location beyond a 6 mile radius from the cafe and return by a different route, including at least one summit or distinct high point. (This could be a bit energetic. If you want a shorter day make it 6 kilometres radius.)Running:
As above, but 6 high points and at least 600 metres of ascent.Road Cycling:
60 kilometres, including six villages within the National Park, or 600 metres of ascent.Mountain Biking:
Just enjoy yourselves, but stay out of the six A and E units closest to the Roaches.Meet in the cafe below Hen Cloud at 10am and start whenever you like!
No Tee Shirts or Trophies; just a fun day out, with those who succeed being able to smugly eat vast amounts of cake with their 4pm brew back in the cafe. This is the last scheduled day meet of the summer season. The object
is to have a large, friendly gathering with lots of activity before we
brace ourselves for the rigors of the ‘Social Season’; Winter Walks;
and the arrival of ice and snow.Andy Hardy
ModeratorIf you’re at loose end I can thoroughly recommend the working meet…

ModeratorHi Debbie
Did you send Richard the deposit for Skye? Just let me know when you have and I’ll add you to the confirmed listAndy Hardy
ModeratorOK peeps, today (Saturday ) we’re going to start at Horseshoe for a spot of bolt clipping. We’ll also be taking proper kit in case we move on to real climbing later.
Andy Hardy
ModeratorYou’re already on the list Chris! follow the link from the main page.
Just a reminder though, it’s the £50 deposit that moves you from the provisional list onto the exalted ‘confirmed’ list 😉Andy Hardy
ModeratorTeam Hardy will be there, but as usual can’t come Friday, so it’ll be an early start Saturday
Andy Hardy
