This means that so long as you can belay safely and have the basic equipment you can come along and meet some of us, have a chat about the club and what we get up to. And of course do a few climbs with one of us of whatever grade you are comfortable at with. You can lead or second &#8211; it&#8217;s totally your choice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Where <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meet by 10.30 at the parking area on the sharp corner of the road at Dennis Knoll (OS Grid Ref 228843). If the weather is good it&#8217;s worth arriving in good time as it will be busy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Equipment <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A harness and belay device are really the only essentials but rock shoes make it soooo much easier, a chalk bag can help at times and a helmet is strongly recommended. Almost regardless of the weather you will want some warm and waterproof clothes as a key part of the climbing experience is chatting, watching, faffing and generally <em>not <\/em>climbing. O&#8217;h and of course, lunch \/ drinks \/ snacks etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dogs are welcome, as are other family members and friends. Anyone under 18 will need to accompanied by a parent or someone acting <em>in loco parentis.<\/em> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>High Neb is the highest part of the legendary Stanage Edge and in nice weather it&#8217;s a glorious place to be. High Neb has a wealth of classic climbs of all grades and is a brisk 20 minute uphill walk from the car park.
