    All,

Derbyshire CC have been undertaling works to a number of rights of way recently. DCC have a poor record in the quality and symapthy of the repairs.

The works undertaken to date at Rushop Edge are apallalling and destroying an Iconic trail in thye Peak District. The repair standard would be suitable for the Sett Valley Trail butnot for the rugged upland area at Rushup Edge.

As a club and as many of us are Derbyshire residents I think we should take a stand and object to this wanton vandalism!

See below report on the works and DCC response.

DCC are spending £70k on appaling repairs!

    There’s more stuff here:
    http://www.outdoorsmagic.com/outdoor-features/rushup-edge-work-halted-for-time-being/13527.html

Including the smoothing of the causeway at Stanage and suggesting that this will be re-opened to 4x4s once a retaining wall has been strengthened. Eek!

There is also a protest ride being setup on 22nd November leaving from hope station at 9.30 am I think. Details are on Facebook group “Rushup Edge Protest /ride”.

I have am appointment with the High Peak MP Andrew Bingham on Saturday (hence I will be late for the Bonfire meet).

I will be raising the issue above in conjunction with Peak Distruct MTB.

If there are any points that Mynydd members would like to raise let me know here.

    Thanks,
    Rich J
