Now intend to go to Curbar, then the Moon for lunch.
Is there an estimated time to get to the Moon?

I will come to the Moon for food and discussion.Kym will be away cycling.
Never participated in a fell race before. Will come to the race and might even join in provided I get an advantage due to arriving from home on foot, rather than driving.

    Hi
Now walking in Friday, hopefully leaving from around 18.00.

Will have a tent flysheet, cooking gear, rack and rope. If anyone else is on their own,let me know so can share the load.
Are folk leaving from Cockley Beck or Brotherikeld?

I intend to overnight in Upper Eskdale on both Friday and Saturday nights. Can leave early afternoon on Friday.
    1. Be good to share vehicles. I can drive or hitch a lift
    2. Have stove, tent, climbing gear etc. but it would be good to share the load so we don’t carry up more than we need.
If anyone can help with the above, send me an email or do it via facebook/forum.

    Anyone going tomorrow?
Weather forecast poor in morning, better in the afternoon.
For outside the Peak District, does Wharncliffe count?
Or for something a bit warmer and of course in the Peak District Stoney!

    Any other suggestions welcome

We are planning to be there. Tin tent but no hookup needed. Thanks Tim.

Kym and I are travelling up Saturday afternoon and stay that night.
Plan to stay couple of more days as well, returning Tuesday, perhaps via Wilton 1.

In the remote possibilty that someone is looking at this rather than the Facebook site I thought I should let you know the outcome.
Some are at Froggatt. I will arrive around 11.00.
Meanwhile Nicola Hawkins is looking for someone for New Mills Torrs 10.30 -13.00 so contact her (quickly) if you can make it

    Good suggestions.
The illumination on the ground is a combination of illumination of moon itself and the angle of the moon above horizon. This is mostly negative on 14th!
Just off ski touring so no more unhelpful advice.

The idea of climbing outside at night is that those with work commitments should be able to come along with minimum disruption to the rest of their lives.
So inevitably the attendees (4 Tuesday nighters and 3 from the Mynydd making 4 in total) did not have any commitments of this sort. Could have gone during the day.
However, the rock was dry and reasonably warm with the crag facing the moon which was unobsured for more than half the time. 3 good routes done then the pub which was open.
Next Full Moon Tuesday is 7 March when I will be away so someone else should suggest a venue – perhaps soemthing more “populist” to reflect the times.

    Hello
I didn’t give the time on the forum this – though did on Facebook
I intend to arrive at the Ramshaw car park around 19.00 and start climbingsoon after (19.30?).I anticipate leaving for the pub around 21.30 but, if the conditions are good.

I believe some would like to come (and leave) earlier – if so post on this forum or (sigh) on Facebook.

Also if anyone wants to propose a walk round there do the same

Well no suggestions for full moon Tuesday from others so – it’s Ramshaw.

South East facing and, with forecast light cloud, glimpses of the moon might occur. Weather forecast cold but dry with light wind. Despite a rather fierce reputation there are some good routes at all grades (e.g. Boomerang VD *** and of course Foord’s Folly, E3 6A ***).
Car parking at SK018620. Meet at the left hand end (e.g. Leeds Crack, Broken Groove) to test the conditions.
The Rock in Upper Hulme afterwards. I will phone to check it is open.

I did the last one so someone else shoudld have the opportunity. However, if no one else proposes anything by Monday 14.00 I will suggest something then.

It would be dependent on the weather forecast but could be something like Ramshaw rocks

I was asked about what equipment would be needed.
A lot of people solo it but the descent might then be rather too fast. Bring harness, helmet and either rock shoes or approach shoes. I will have a rope and bits of gear. If you want to lead yourself, bring similar. A head torch might be useful for the darker bits!
Oh and a wet suit of you want to explore the further parts of the cave.
