Hello,

I am writing as the chair of Manchester University’s Expedition Society to let you know about an event that we have coming up.

Stephen Venables, world-renowned mountaineer and speaker and the first Briton to climb Everest without supplementary oxygen will be launching our society on Tue 25th November 2014. The event will take place in Academy 2 of the Students Union at 7pm and is targeted at students and members of the public with an interest in mountaineering and expedition travel.

The audience can expect tales from a lifetime’s worth of expeditions from early shoestring trips, right through to more recent, lavish ones. They will hear how Stephen entered the world of expeditions and why his unyielding interest and enthusiasm for adventure persists.

We want to bring students and members of the public together and hopefully inspire them to plan their own expeditions all over the world.

Early bird tickets are £4 for students, £7 for non-students.
