    This August Bank Holiday weekend you have 2 choices, feel free to come along to either of both of the following;
    Sat 29th – Standing Stones, Chew Valley.
    Meet; Binn Green car park (off A635) at 10am for a 10.15am departure or later at the crag. Park on the layby on the road for free or in the actual carpark below it. 45 mostly level min walk in, guaranteed peace and quiet, no polish, might be chilly.
    Meet Leader; Jules Lane.

    Mon 31st – Almscliffe Crag, Yorks
    Meet Leader: Paul Justin
    Times, details, TBA (but limited parking suggests a prompt arrival).

    Check FB and here near the time for changes should the weather not co-operate.

    Alex had a great day out with Rowan and Kathryn on Sat, and has some great pics of Rowan absolutely loving it. Might be a nice tweet – ‘new member Rowan enjoying one of her first leads on Tryfan…’ Etc. if she’s happy to be featured.

    And looking at those times, maybe Stanage Pop back to 14.30 and everything else up 1/2 hour earlier.

    Not retired Rob, we’re both so committed to the cause that we’re taking a day off.

    Andy – probably not, need to save all available energy.

    Cripes, had me worried there ! Not guilty, it was closed beforehand (for ‘safety inspection work’) and we had to clamber over and round a number of barriers to gain access. Not a problem unless the jobsworth spots you.

    Rowan (Ellwood) is a very keen new member. She has already booked flights to / from Venice for this meet.

    PLEASE can someone volunteer to be her contact point when she arrives and do appropriate introductions. She is also coming to the Festival on 20th so it would be great if someone could have a chat with her then too. IT would also really help if anyone could take some of her kit by car / van as she is flying.

    Many thanks
    Membership Sec.

    Last week it was sunny and there were only 4 of us !!
    If it is dry over the dark side (never mind sunny) I’ll be there.

    Andy – I am keen but 50/50 at present, depending on other plans. Count me as a 1/2.
